Upgrade this PC to Windows 10
Back up your files before you upgrade to Windows 10.
Open Media Creation Tool and Run it. Then Accept the terms.
Select Upgrade this PC now.
Media Creation Tool is downloading Windows 10. (3.41 GB, 5-30 minutes)
Windows 10 ESD File saved in C:\ESD\Windows
At first, it’s a file named installx64.esd (or x86 ?), then extracted to multiple files. ( In fact, you don’t need to know, just next > next > next)
Now, Windows 10 is ready to install. You can Keep your personal files and apps, or delete it.
Make a cup of coffee and take your time. (10-30 minutes, Your PC will restart several times )
Setting up your account, A local account or Microsoft account (Recommend)
Choose the default settings, Next > Next > Next.
Finally
Upgrade from activated Windows 7 or 8.1, Windows 10 will be activated for free. No Product Key Needed.
If your login with a Microsoft account, this PC will be marked as “Windows 10 Totally Free” by Microsoft.
That means even if you format your disk to reinstall Windows 10, you just need to login your Microsoft account, Windows 10 Will be activated .
Delete windows.old and other files
After upgraded, there will be at least 4 GB useless data, including windows.old. And you can’t Delete it by press delete or Right-Click delete.
Go to This PC, Right-Click Local Disk C > Properties > Disk Cleanup > Cleanup System Files > OK.
Install Windows 10 From a USB Drive
You need a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB space.
Open the Media Creation Tool and choose Create installation media ( USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC.
Select the language, edition, and architecture (64 or 32-bit) for Windows 10
